Auburn Community Mourns Beloved Teacher Doreen Guittarr
The community of Auburn is mourning the unexpected loss of Doreen Fournier Guittarr, a dedicated educator with Auburn Public Schools whose passing has left students, colleagues, and families heartbroken.
Guittarr, a longtime resident of Auburn and a native of Harrisville, was known not only as a passionate teacher but also as a loving mother and a deeply caring member of her community.
She taught second grade at Pakachoag Elementary School, where she made a lasting impact on generations of students. School officials described her as “a wonderful human being,” reflecting the warmth, patience, and dedication she brought into her classroom each day.
Colleagues remember Guittarr as a compassionate educator who went above and beyond to support her students academically and emotionally. Her classroom was known as a place of encouragement and kindness, where children felt safe, valued, and inspired to learn.
